Xander and our doula! I can’t thank you enough, Mel Craven, for your absolute dedication and support throughout the end of my pregnancy, during the birth and after! I don’t think I could’ve done it without you! 🙌🏻 (If you don’t know what a doula is... until recently I didn’t! ... it’s someone you definitely want by your side when giving birth!). What did it mean to have a doula? "Everything. It simply meant everything. I had a friend who i could shout at and she understood. lol. Thank you my Doula Ms. Cari " ---- Tasneema Sadick Losper
Mel was the most amazing comfort to me and Peter. Even after 3 days and the fact I ended up in surgery she still stayed by my side. She watched me dance and cry. She was my rock and shining star. Hillary Wilhelm
"It meant everything. I felt taken care of, seen, heard, protected, knowledgeable, vulnerable, safe and calm. There was a huge difference between my first and second birth thanks to my beloved doula Cari being there for me during my second birth. I cant ever say it enough. She went above and beyond my expectations." --- Iman Khalid
One would think after having natural deliveries three times, a doula wouldn’t be needed for the fourth pregnancy. After thorough research and recommendations, I found Cari. I felt that I wanted a doula because this would be my 1st pregnancy outside my country and away from family. During my entire pregnancy Cari was there every step of the way. She answered questions I needed answered without me even having to ask. It was like she was a mind reader. She takes full pleasure in being a doula, being readily available anytime needed. I honestly learned the most this go around about pregnancy and childbirth because of her wealth of knowledge. Let’s fast forward to the time my precious baby started making moves, Cari would come over to do different exercises with me and show me different techniques to help assist baby and help with pain management. She even made my husband feel like he was involved. Soon after I started contracting and headed to the hospital. Of course, Cari rushed over. I was very nervous because I didn’t know what to expect being that this was a foreign country. Well, they came and checked me, my contractions were picking up, but baby was making little moves. For some reason they felt like I wasn’t progressing quick enough to stay hospitalized and wanted to send me home. This is when Cari was my advocate, she pleaded with them and asked that they give me more time. They agreed and we started working. Oh my, she had the room dimmed with candles and oils burning. This was the birth experience I wanted with my other 3 children but didn’t because I opted out of having a doula. I really didn’t know the role of a doula and the importance of having one. Cari did so many fun and exciting exercises with me and soon after I went into active labor. If I could go back to 2010, I would have had Cari there for each of my pregnancies. She has a natural gift for this, and she continues to learn as much as she can so she can give as much as she can. She was truly what I needed, and I am very happy I chose her to be my doula. Also, an added bonus, my baby girl came on her birthday. It was just meant to be.
I have attended Mel's prenatal yoga classes, baby massage and baby yoga classes through two pregnancies. Her classes are relaxing and fun. The prenatal yoga helped me so much during two difficult labour, and the baby classes taught me so many techniques for connecting with my baby and helping ease colic and gas. I would thoroughly recommend any of Mel's classes or services, 5 stars! Alison Soltani
Alison Soltani has loved Baby Massage and Prenatal Yoga throughout both of her pregnancies. And so has her babies.
Baby massage class was a great way to bond with my baby boy whilst learning how to help him through his colic and reflux. It also allowed me to get out of the house and socialize which is so important for new moms. Thanks Mel! Kelly Jacobs
Me & Naya love our baby massage session. It makes her calm and after every session she sleeps deeply :)
